We know that our individual choices support good, clean, and fair food. We also know that public food policy — at federal, state, and local levels — greatly influences what and how our food is produced and consumed.
Though the Farm Bill has passed, there are plenty of other opportunities to help create better food and farming policies, from the Child Nutrition Reauthorization to a growing number of state GMO labeling initiatives. Slow Food USA is creating a new Policy Task Force for those who want to be more deeply engaged in these kinds of opportunities to advocate for structural change.
Task Force Members will regularly receive requests to sign onto letters, petitions and campaigns and will be notified of important calls to action as issues emerge and evolve. We hope Task Force members will not only take action themselves but also spread the word to their wider community, where appropriate.
To sign up, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your first/last name and city/state of residence. The group will begin work in March with a survey to determine our policy priorities. You can unsubscribe at any time.
