Slow Food NYC is looking for volunteers who want to get their hands dirty and dig in the garden this Saturday! May 6 from 10 am - 2 pm. We are preparing the garden (planting, digging, weeding, building, watering, and more) for summer programming with local children. Ujima is located at 660 New Jersey Avenue between Riverdale and New Lots Avenues. Ujima Garden is a tuition-free, educational urban farm community resource operating in East New York, Brooklyn during summer months (July and August) for children from the local community. If you are interested, wear something comfortable and you don't mind getting dirty, bring water and bring gloves if you have them! If you would like more information, you can contact managing farmer, Jonathan Blumberg - jonathanblumberg@yahoo.com
If you can't make it this Saturday, we will have more opportunities throughout the spring and early summer!
