It's the Slow Food NYC monthly Happy Hour! It's fun, social, and informal. But it's also your opportunity to talk to the leadership of Slow Food NYC and let us know what you think. Got a great idea for an event? Want to learn more about Slow Food? Just looking to have a relaxing drink with other "Slow" minded people? The Slur is your opportunity — free and open to everyone.
Jimmy's No. 43 may look like a typical, neighborhood dive bar (literally, as you need to take the stairs down below street level to enter) but this local institution is actually a veritable paradise for foodies and beer aficionados alike. Owner, co-founder of "The Good Beer Seal," and long-time Slow Food supporter Jimmy Carbone serves up a long list of mostly German, Belgian, and local beers as well ciders and spirits, along with an unexpected menu of Filipino-inspired eats. In addition, Especially Puglia, a company that sources the finest extra virgin olive oils from small, family-owned farms in Puglia, will be at the Slur with samples for an informal tasting. The company's mission is to facilitate a more transparent food system and invite consumers to be part of the harvest.
We hope to see you there -- the event is free, but please RSVP.
