Each year, Slow Food NYC holds an open meeting to welcome new members to our community. On Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET, we're holding a virtual gathering where we'll share information about how to get involved. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about the work of our local Slow Food chapter. Join us to learn about volunteer roles, submitting a nomination for the board, or to talk about food with our fellow members.
As part of the Slow Food USA network, our local chapter is dedicated to the development of an equitable, just, and healthy local food system that truly works for all of us. We encourage a diverse range of perspectives and experiences at our table to best reflect the varied needs of our entire community—and we hope to see you there! Please reach out to info@slowfoodnyc.org with any questions.
This event is no-cost, though we welcome donations to support our Urban Harvest Farm at Ujima—a tuition-free, educational urban farm community resource operating in East New York, Brooklyn during the growing season. Over the past several years alone, we’ve distributed more than 2,700 pounds of produce from Ujima to community partners in the neighborhood with the support of our members. Please consider making a contribution so this work can continue at DonorBox.org/SlowFoodNYC.
